I'm feeling a bit competitive! group one (Vingi's group) now has x2 with 4/6 x1 with 5/6 and x3 6/6! They need one more FG and One 16th Hall before an assault on Dark delvings. Now we know they cheated by doing Gurvand pre book 7 but hey lets beat them anyway *roar*. I've scheduled another 16th for today and more to come . If we get these done before Jacek gets back we will be in a strong position. It will be interesting to see if Mira can tank Gurvand. If they have problems then our GRD might give us an edge *fingers crossed*

Cool

Cannot wait until we get to the meltdown point again to do the groups of 12 and go for the Rift and Watcher Smile

Seems we are drawing ever closer to that point my friend. How exciting! Even better we are becoming more cohesive and well drilled to the point where we can do most instances with our eyes closed. I'm sure you're finding the same.

To all our raid group. The time has been changed for tonight's run to 16th hall.

Because of our group composition this will be the strat to use: http://www.lotrolife.com/gurvand_hard_mode_walkthrough/ Everyone needs to read it to have an idea what to expect.

The Lotro Wiki guide explains the fight in more detail, but I am not sure about that 20k mark at all. No other guides seem to mention it.

The GoV strategy is also a good read even if we can't use because we have to kill adds.

Let's kill this bastard tomorrow and be the first group to do it! Very Happy

How are we all this morning :?:I really thought we had a chance to do this last night. When we took down the first boss so easily I thought we must be redy for this. I'm sure we're geared up and ready. I see Janne and Raul have talked tactics on the Countdown to Gurvand thread. I just want to say thanks guys for a great effort. It's really hard work in there. I was delighted that we got through to him more or less without a hitch. The big bad himself we actually started off doing quite well against. I think tiredness and frustratin got the better of us. To me it seemed like a mistake to switch the tanking (a decision I was part of) but also apologies for my crap handling of the adds. I got mega confused about where/when we were doing things. Therefore i think we should have a plan before we start now and stick to it. I hope to see you all back on Saturday. I'm determined to do this bugger. *ROAR*

The learning curve is a steap one. And I can surly say you did you all did your utmost to beat this boy into pulp. Fact was we tried it in so many different ways that we began to miss match strategy's.

However we did reach him in a short amount of time that we got the chance to try out some stuff. Something we werent able to do when we reached him the first time because we whiped so much at the start already.

We are doing baby steps and ever slightly inching forward.

If i sounded a bit harsh on some of you last night my apologees but I was not realy mad. We army blokes call it exercise anger. You make one think your angry at him so that he will do better next time but in the mean while your just acting to mad at him.

Next time when we hit him it wont be for a nice chit chat it will be hard clinical surgery. So that means no chit chat while trying to kill him (wich we didnt luckely) and just direct straightforward orders by the leader. One of our great discision last night was just to call it a whipe asap to get it over with.

Must say that resuracting at this stage was fine to just to see what would happen and how far we could take it.

We all are clear now for wich buff we need to look out for on Gurvand and how the icon looks. I think after we knew that the whole encounter became alot clearer to us all.

After some hard comabt there is time for hard relexation so maybe we could go to FG tonight after kin meet(maybe turtle) or tomorow just in QUEST mode and pillage the joint. Everyone that comes along will have to be clear that we are NOT going for the coin. This would be just a happy joifull chity chat brawl.

What say you all!

I should have took a screenie! Gurvand's display took up almost a quarter of my screen so I would not miss it!!!!

I'm going to have a LOTRO break tonight and go out for once. The wife has given me an evening pass. Quest mode tomorrow evening would be very welcome. See you then.

Bonk if you want massacre - go and pull whole FG kitchen Smile
CPT uses last stand all can just hit everything for 30 seconds Smile

Also GS quest run is nice - lots of adds to kill.

but yeah i think the main thing is to have the walk up to Gurvand under control so main focus will be on last fight every time.

Well it was good practice. Reading the GoV thread there's still things we didn't know. If he's reflecting and you do a shout on him he will slap you with Shut Your Mouth! for quite a lot of shadow damage. That means champions challenge and guardian's taunt will also trigger this. I think we need more healing so more GGGBB or when we killed the adds we had the chance to do GYYYYB but always failed it.

Personally I think the DD runs should start a bit earlier than others. The Sat run is scheduled to start 10.30 pm my time which is kinda late seeing as we have to fight to him and then starting numerous tries again. Any possibility to have start at 7 pm uk time?

You can start earlier but will need another tank . I don't finish work until 20:00 and by the time i get home and settled it will be 2030 hence the time. and Raul will have same time constraints as normal so..... I'm sorry guys everything goes a lot later for you in the east. I have to be strictly after 1900 as all other time is spent with my kids or with an eye/ear out for them. 1900 they go to bed. Up to you, I'm happy to schedule earlier runs. Just ask me or Bonk has access to Raid planner as well.

Please let me know when we wanna do some instance or something other together. So I can put it in the event planner. Maybe its fun to do some HoC or some quest runs in different instances juts for the hell of it.

Next Sunday Team 1 does A DD run sign up for when they do 2 runs so maybe some of us can go along to watch them do it.

I'll think about some instance runs this week and put them in the planner, Bonk - I'm definitely thinking about HoC and maybe some jewellery farming runs.

I know I know - still, it may take us a while to get crafted stuff. Anyway, since Steve is absent, no DD runs this week. I created two HoC runs - on Monday and Wednesday. If you have any other suggestions, shoot.

btw if you want to farm something which isnt overly long nor too hard - Skumfil left side is quite nice. Pendevig clog (best cloak for melee in game - i think it still is) and Spry Ring both are rare drops from last boss on that side. My experience shows 1 out of 3 runs the cloak drops. Ring is 1 out of 5 or 6 Sad
